Some doodlez for youz!
I keep hearing frogs every night... which is trippin' me out because I've never heard frogs near my house before. I mean I'm walking distance from a lake... but I've never seen or heard any mention of frogs. It's buggin' me though... I'm almost compelled to go out one night and find the source of ribbets... just 'cause.
I also drew my right thumb for some reason. I jammed it hard against the ground whilst breakdancing awhile ago and it left this nasty blood bruise. The spaceman is a Futurenaut.
P.S. I found some siiick Samiyam beats on da web just a moment ago. He'd better be coming out with another album soon... |

Hope you all had a smashing Easter long weekend. Mine was definitely... uh... long. I guess I pretty much spent the whole time watching Wizards of Waverly Place and drawing. Productive weekend? I'd say so.
Here's something I've been working on in the sketchbook:
It's nowhere near done yet. I still have to finish the inks, maybe add a background, etc. I'm not sure if it necessitates colour though... I was thinking of adding some digital colour, but I'm also debating a straight greyscale picture.
Don't know where this guy came from either... I think I was imagining this vast canyon setting and some sort of showdown.
Now let's try something different!
We have a pop art assignment in art class and I decided to epitomize Jay Dee! Maybe epitomize isn't the best word... but you know what I mean. Honour... in an expressionistic way.
Anyway, I decided to employ stencil art to achieve that sharp, pop art look. This isn't the final product, of course, just a test on a stray piece of cardboard. We actually have to complete our paintings on a loose piece of canvas... should be fun. So don't go nowheres! There's more to be seen! |

So I didn't get comics done for Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but I have an excuse. I was involved in Zoomfest 2008 this weekend. Zoomfest is a film competition that requires high school students to create a movie in the space of 48 hours. (More info at: http://www.zoomfest.com) We got the movie done, but yeah... I didn't get any comics done.
I did get today's done though. In fact, I got two done, if it counts for anything.
I was still trying to make up for lost sleep during the weekend in English class, so I just kind of bumped my tunes and drifted off. But yeah... it was way too loud... I've been known to do that. If any of y'all are wondering I was listening to "Massage Situation" by Flying Lotus. That right there is a tasty jam.
Our Zoomfest film had some troubles getting on to a disc... We did finally get it though.
On a bogus note, my sketchbook got a bit mauled somehow. I opened it up today to find like 6 of the corners all folded in and some of them ripped. Ruined some of my drawings... Don't know how it happened, the sketchbook is bound, I never leave it lying open. But yeah... I was kind of rattled.
Anywho, that be all for now. If we ever get our Zoomfest video up on YouTube I'll be sure to relay it here. |

| Study Break |

Methinks I might completely loose my head if I don't take a break from my Provincial studies. I got this Social Studies 11 Provincial on Friday that's been completely frying my brain all week and to make matters worse I have Biology 12 Provincial on Monday as well. I can't juggle two exams at the same time, I just can't.
What really screws things, however, is the fact that there's been a whole crew of roofers bangin' away on my roof all day! Oh yes, my parents just HAD to commission our roof redone during Provincials at school.
So I'm taking a load off right now. Here's what's going down in my new sketchbook:
My dad got me this spiffy new hardcover sketchbook awhile back and I've been breaking it in by completely covering the first two pages. I'm gonna put "This sketchbook belongs to... etc." in that circle you can see on the page to the left. It's all for sentimental purposes or some junk... I don't know...
Anyways, wish me luck on my Socials exam! It's first thing tomorrow, bright n' early! |
