I uploaded another video on YouTube. One of my artistic pursuits IS movie making, jeese guys...
This one's a short film my friend and I made during term 2 of grade 11. It was a spontaneous idea and we kind of just ran with it. (Please don't take it too seriously, haha.)
What have I been listening to lately, you ask? I've been all about the beat tapes over the past couple weeks, especially those by Madlib, DJ Babu, Ayatollah and Oh No. I've also been going through Prefuse 73's new album, Everything She Touches Turns Ampexian. It's all fresh stuff, check up on it. |

Ayatollah is pretty cool, but his samples are pretty used up, and they always sound more or less they way they did when he sampled them; whereas madlib, or his brother (whom you mentioned) chop shit up until I can barely recognize it. I think his heart's in the right place (he certainly likes KRAFTWERK!) but he needs to try harder, hahhaa.
Do you listen to Khrysis? I've been digging his instrumental stuff lately.

I think I have a Little Brother track produced by him, but I don't have any of his instrumentals yet. I'll look into it for sure!
And yeah I see what you're saying, there's needs to be more of an art in sampling. | |
